Sunrisers Hyderabad named New Zealand legend Daniel Vettori as their head coach for Indian Premier League 2024. Brian Lara was appointed as coach of Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise for IPL 2023 but had a disappointing outing finishing number last in the points table. Sunrisers Hyderabad won the Indian Premier League title during the 2016 edition under the captaincy of David Warner.

Brian Lara was appointed as the batting and strategic advisor for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2022 edition of IPL. Sunrisers Hyderabad had a disappointing outing during that season also with only four wins and finished disappointing 8th in the points table.

Tom Moody was named as coach of Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise for IPL 2022. SRH finished last in the 8-team event in 2021. They finished 8th in 10 team events in the 2022 edition. Their disappointing performance continued with another last finish place.

Australian legend Daniel Vettori will be the fourth head coach that Sunrisers Hyderabad has appointed in six previous seasons. SRH appointed Tom Moody in 2019 and 2022 while Trevor Bayliss in 2020 and 2021. It was a disappointing outing for Brian Lara and Co that Sunrisers Hyderabad finished last during last year’s IPL.

Sunrisers Hyderabad qualified for the playoffs during the 2020 edition played in the United Arab Emirates. Since then, SRH could not qualify in 2021, 2022 and 2023.

The New Zealand all-rounder Daniel Vettori has been appointed as the coach of Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise for IPL 2024. He was named as coach of the Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise from 2014 to 2018. He is currently coaching the Birmingham Phoenix men’s side at the Hundred.

Under his coaching, Royal Challengers Bangalore made it to playoffs in 2015. They made it into the finals of the 2016 edition where they lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad in a high-scoring encounter. He worked for the Bangladesh team as a bowling consultant.

Vettori has been there with the Australian Cricket Team since May 2022. Vettori would be hoping to take Sunrisers Hyderabad to new heights in the upcoming season.

Heinrich Klassen was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise this season and top-scored with 448 runs from 12 matches ( 11 innings) including 1 century and 2 half-centuries to his name at a strike rate of 177.07. The experienced Bhuvneshwar Kumar finished as the leading wicket-taker with 16 wickets from 14 matches at an economy of 8.33 and figures of 5 for 30 against Gujarat Titans.
