Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians are currently playing in the 43rd match of Indian Premier League 2024 played at Arun Jaitley Stadium, New Delhi on 27th April. With much surprise, Prithvi Shaw has been dropped from the playing XI after a disappointing performance in the previous match against Gujarat Titans.

Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya said at the toss that Gerald Coetzee is suffering from a stomach bug. Luke Wood has been named as his replacement for this encounter.

Delhi Capitals posted 257 for 4 in 20 overs. It was a superb batting display by Delhi Capitals batters. Jake Fraser McGurk took the charge right from the word go putting enough pressure on MI bowlers. He completed fifty off just 15 balls keeping momentum going for DC.

Delhi Capitals raced away to 92 for 0 at the end of six overs. With that, the first timeout was taken. Fraser McGurk’s innings ended with an easy catch to Nabi at deep midwicket. McGurk and Porel added 114 runs for the opening wicket in 7.3 overs.

McGurk made 84 off 27 balls with 11 fours and 6 sixes which laid a strong foundation for DC to post a big total. After the dismissal of Porel, Shai Hope continued his aggressive style of play making life tough for MI bowlers. Wood got rid of Hope with a simple catch to Tilak Varma. Hope and Pant added 53 runs for the 3rd wicket. DC went into the 2nd timeout at 190 for 3.

Stubbs looked in sublime touch putting MI bowlers under immense pressure, especially Luke Wood. Pant also contributed valuable runs dismissed by Bumrah. Pant and Stubbs added 55 runs for the 4th wicket. MI bowlers struggled as Wood, Bumrah, Chawla and Nabi took 1 wicket each.
