RR vs RCB

Rajasthan Royals will host Royal Challengers Bengaluru in match number 19 of IPL 2024 to be played at Sawai Man Singh Stadium, Jaipur on 6th April. RR won the first three matches including 2 home games against Lucknow Super Giants and Delhi Capitals.

On the other hand, RCB would look to arrest their slide after 28 run loss to Lucknow Super Giants at home. They need their foreign players including du Plessis, and Maxwell to fire and help RCB register 2 points that would help them climb up the points table.

Both teams have quality players that can change the course of the game and help them win matches.

Here we look at the 3 player battles between RR and RCB in match number 19 of IPL 2024:

  1. Virat Kohli vs Trent Boult

Virat Kohli looked impressive in the previous match against Lucknow Super Giants with a quickfire knock but could not convert it into a big score. On the other hand, Trent Boult was at his prime against Mumbai Indians picking 3 wickets that dented them and restricted them to a modest total.

When these two teams met in Bengaluru, Boult dismissed Kohli for a golden duck. It will be an interesting battle between the top two players. It will be an interesting battle in the first six overs which might decide the fate of the game.

Virat Kohli would look to continue his superb form against RR in the first six overs and hope to build pressure on Boult.

  1. Mohammed Siraj vs Jos Buttler

Mohammed Siraj was not given the new ball against Lucknow Super Giants. The premier pace bowler failed to give early breakthroughs as de Kock took him to the cleaners. Jos Buttler looked out of sorts against Mumbai Indians failing to score big in three matches so far.

Siraj got the wicket of Jos Buttler last time when these two teams met in Bengaluru. Buttler would be eager to give a good start and help RR lay a strong foundation for a big total.

The battle in the first six overs between Siraj and Buttler might decide the fate of the match.

  1. Glenn Maxwell vs Yuzvendra Chahal

Glenn Maxwell was dismissed without opening his account against the Lucknow Super Giants. He struggled against the pace of Mayank Yadav. On the other hand, Chahal picked up 3 wickets giving away 11 runs against Mumbai Indians that put brakes on the scoring.

Chahal has dismissed Maxwell thrice in nine innings so far. Maxwell had a brilliant outing against Chahal last year.

Maxwell struggled in this year’s IPL tournament, failing to spin twice. He would be eager to come up with a superb performance while Chahal will look to continue his superb form against his former team RCB in middle overs.
