Former KKR skipper Eoin Morgan highlighted the soaring spirits within the dressing room after the team clinched their third consecutive win of the season, echoing a sentiment of renewed vigour.
Shah Rukh engaged in discussions with Rinku Singh, expressing his admiration for the player, before sharing a heartfelt embrace with captain Shreyas Iyer. He extended his camaraderie to the Delhi players as well, commending Khaleel Ahmed for his noteworthy performances in the IPL 2024 season and embracing Kuldeep Yadav, who missed the match due to injury.
The match itself unfolded on a batting paradise in Visakhapatnam, where Shreyas won the toss and elected to bat first. Narine’s explosive innings of 85 runs off 39 deliveries stole the spotlight, embellished with seven fours and an equal number of sixes.
Debutant Angkrish Raghuvanshi contributed a sublime 54 off just 27 balls, while Russell maintained his fine form with a brisk 41 off 19 balls. Contributions from Rinku and Shreyas further propelled KKR to a formidable total of 272/7, marking the second-highest score in IPL history.
In response, DC faced early setbacks, losing four wickets within the first five overs. Despite half-centuries from Rishabh Pant and Tristan Stubbs, DC succumbed to a hefty defeat, falling short by 106 runs as they were bowled out for 166 in 17.2 overs. With this victory, KKR secured their first three wins of the season, ascending to the top of the points table, and displacing Rajasthan Royals.
