Lucknow Super Giants will miss the services of Shivam Mavi for the remainder of IPL 2024 due to a back injury. He was bought by the LSG franchise during the auction with a base price of 6.4 Crore. Mavi failed to recover from a rib injury which resulted in him not taking part in the prestigious tournament.

KL Rahul led side registered 28 run victory over Royal Challengers Bengaluru at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru on 2nd April 2024. Lucknow Super Giants registered their second successive win in this tournament after winning against Punjab Kings. In a video posted by the franchise on Instagram, Mavi, without specifying the nature of the injury, said: “I will miss [the tournament] a lot. I had come here after an injury and had thought I would play matches for my team and do well. But unfortunately, I will have to leave because I have suffered an injury.

“We got an excellent team,” Mavi said. “I will keep cheering for the team and hopefully, we will win.”

Shivam Mavi played a total of 32 IPL matches so far (32 innings) and grabbed a total of 30 wickets at an economy of 8.71 runs per with figures of 4 for 21. He was bought by the KKR franchise in 2018 and played till 2022. He has been struggling with injuries of late and did not take part in the 2023 tournament due to an injury.
