Sunrisers Hyderabad will host Mumbai Indians in their first home game to be played at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad on 27th March 2024. Despite Klassen’s brilliance against KKR, SRH lost the match by 4 runs.
On the other hand, Mumbai Indians lost the match from a winning position against Gujarat Titans. Both teams would be looking for their first points and play attacking cricket.
Both teams have quality players who can change the course of the match. It promises to be a great batting pitch at Hyderabad which could lead to a high high-scoring encounter.
Here we look at the 3 player battles between SRH and MI in match number 8 of IPL 2024:
- Rohit Sharma vs Pat Cummins
Rohit Sharma looked impressive in the first match of the season against Gujarat Titans. He played with an attacking mindset, putting bowlers under pressure in the first six overs and making life tough for the opponents.
On the other hand, Cummins bowled decently, grabbing 1 wicket giving away 32 runs in his 4 overs. Both teams have been in great form lately with Cummins leading Australia to winning the World Cup 2023.
Pat Cummins has not dismissed Rohit Sharma in the IPL once. It promises to be an exciting battle that could become important to decide the fate of the game.
- Mayank Agarwal vs Jasprit Bumrah
Jasprit Bumrah returned to IPL action with superb figures of 3 for 14 in 4 overs which restricted Gujarat Titans to a modest total of 168. On the other hand, Mayank Agarwal got off to a quickfire start putting pressure on KKR bowlers but did not convert it into a big score.
Jasprit Bumrah has a great record against Mayank Agarwal dismissing him thrice in 16 deliveries while the SRH opener made just 11 runs. It will be an interesting battle to see if Mayank can reduce the threat of Bumrah in the first six overs and help SRH give a flying start.
- Heinrich Klassen vs Piyush Chawla
Heinrich Klassen was at his lethal best during the previous match against KKR smashing 8 sixes with most of them coming against spinners. His strike rate climbs up to 183.13 against in IPL which makes him a dangerous batter to bowl at.
Piyush Chawla gave away 31 runs in his 3 overs and took 1 wicket. It promises to be interesting to see if Klassen can continue his sensational form or if Chawla picks his wicket stopping SRH from a victory.
