IPL 2024: “Players Know Their Roles Well” – Mike Hussey Confident Of CSK Ahead Of Two Away Games

Chennai Super Kings batting coach Mike Hussey is confident of his team ahead of their two away matches against the Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2024 Indian Premier League. They have gotten off to a great start winning both their matches so far in the tournament.

The Chennai Super Kings defeated the Gujarat Titans by 63 runs at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. They notched up 206 runs on the board. In response, Gujarat Titans’ batting unit derailed, handing Chennai Super Kings their second win. Following the win, Chennai Super Kings will be travelling to Vizag to play against Delhi Capitals. This is their first away game of the tournament. It will be followed by Sunrisers Hyderabad hosting them for their fourth match.

Talking about the upcoming matches, Mike Hussey said,

“To be honest, I haven’t thought too much about the Delhi game in Vizag. We have to enjoy the game today and enjoy the fact that we did well. We will reflect and review the game as coaches and focus on points to improve.”

“It is definitely going to be a challenge, we are on the road for a couple of games against Delhi and Hyderabad after that,” he added.

Hussey further said, “The good thing is we are playing confident cricket and the players know their roles well. We will adapt to the conditions as well as we possibly can.”

Whoever adapts quicker, better will come out on top: Mike Hussey

The Delhi Capitals will be playing a couple of home matches at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam. They will return to their usual home ground in Delhi in the third week of April. Chennai Super Kings batting coach Mike Hussey feels a new home ground for Delhi Capitals doesn’t mean an advantage to the opposition. He said,

“I don’t think Delhi playing away from the city necessarily gives us more of an advantage. We have got two quality teams that will put on a great show. Whoever adapts to the conditions quicker and better will come out on top.”
