Delhi Capitals will see the return of Rishabh Pant as the captain after rehabilitation from a horrendous car accident he suffered on December 30. DC failed to qualify for the playoff stage as they finished 9th in the points table. They would begin their tournament against Punjab Kings on 23rd March.
They would be looking to prove their worth with some top-quality players in their ranks. Lungi Ngidi will not take part in the tournament as Jake Fraser McGurk has been his replacement for the team. Harry Brook also withdrew due to personal reasons. Jhye Richardson will not take part in the first leg of the tournament due to an injury.

Strengths
Delhi Capitals have a strong batting unit including David Warner, Prithvi Shaw, Mitchell Marsh, Shai Hope, Tristian Stubbs, and Pant would make them a quality unit that can put pressure on the bowlers with their aggressive style of play.
DC comprises of top-quality spin trio of Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav who have a lot of variations that would be a major threat to opponents. Apart from this, Lalit Yadav can also provide spin bowling options.
Weakness
Delhi Capitals does not have top-quality seam bowling options from overseas. They have been dealt a major blow as Jhye Richardson will not feature in the first leg due to an injury. They could struggle, which can be a big concern.
Indian seam bowling options including Ishant Sharma and Khaleel Ahmed form do not auger well for Delhi Capitals.
Indian uncapped players like Yash Dhull, Kumar Kushagra, Lalit Yadav, Ricky Bhui, Sumit Kumar, and Swastik Chakra do not pose confidence playing their first or second season.
Opportunities
It is a chance for Prithvi Shaw to prove his worth after a disappointing season in 2023. Shai Hope playing his first season will be eager to showcase his skills. Other players including Stubbs and Pant would be looking to score runs and help Delhi Capitals comeback with venom.
Threats
The major threat would be the availability of key players including Pant and Anrich Nortje. Pant was not available for last season due to serious accident while Nortje has been away from cricket since last September.
Delhi Capitals would be hoping that both Pant and Nortje could serve them helping them to win matches.
Expectations
Delhi Capitals could struggle badly with their bowling while batting looks strong. They might not qualify for the knockout stage as they might struggle with lower-order hitting by the Indian players.
