England star all-rounder Ben Stokes will the miss Indian Premier League 2024. He was bought by Chennai Super Kings in last year’s edition for the whopping price of Rs 16.25 Crore. Despite his absence, CSK defeated the Gujarat Titans to win a record-levelling fifth title.

Stokes took retirement to take part in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. He struggled in the initial stages but came back with strong performances during the later half but could not help England defend the title that they won in the 2019 edition.

He played in 6 matches during World Cup with 304 runs including 1 century and 2 half-centuries to his name. During the tournament, Stokes amassed his highest score of 108 against the Netherlands and helped them to register a comfortable win.

England finished 5th in the points table and progressed into the 2025 Champions Trophy. He did not play the first few matches during the tournament which put them under pressure.

Ben Stokes captained England to a 2-2 draw in the 5-match Ashes series played in England this year. He put on an excellent display of captaincy after losing the first two matches but could not regain the Ashes after the fourth Test match at Old Trafford could yield result due to rain.

England all-rounder Ben Stokes will miss the service for Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2024. His focus would be on workload management ahead of the five-match Test series on Indian soil next year and also the T20I World Cup to be played in the United States of America and West Indies in June.

During the IPL 2023, Ben Stokes featured in only 2 matches with only 15 runs scored. He delivered only 1 over in 2 matches he played with 0 wickets.

Stokes made his IPL debut for Rising Pune Supergiant in 2017. He had a dream season for them with 316 runs from 12 matches (11 innings) including 1 century and 1 half-century with the best score of 103 not out. During that season, Rising Pune Supergiant reached the finals and lost to Mumbai Indians by 1 run.

He was bought by Rajasthan Royals in the 2018 edition and played till 2021. He featured in only 8 matches during IPL 2020 with 285 runs with 1 century and 1 half-century including the best score of 107 not out against Mumbai Indians.
