The Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore have traded Mayank Dagar and Shahbaz Ahmed during the ongoing trade window for the Indian Premier League 2024 ahead of the auction, which is set to take place on December 19, 2023, in Dubai. The deadline to submit the final list of retained players is Sunday, November 26.

According to a report in Cricbuzz, the Sunrisers Hyderabad and the Royal Challengers Bangalore have traded Shahbaz Ahmed and Mayank Dagar. An official statement is likely to be out soon as the deadline is just a day away. Shahbaz was signed by the Royal Challengers Bangalore for INR 2.4 crore in the 2022 Indian Premier League mega-auction. He will ply his trade for the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the upcoming season. Meanwhile, the Royal Challengers Bangalore have signed Mayank Dagar. The left-arm spinner was brought by the franchise for INR 1.8 crore at the 2023 auction.

Shahbaz Ahmed has played 39 Indian Premier League matches, scoring 321 runs at an average of 16.89. He has taken 14 wickets at an economy rate of 9.15. He had a poor 2023 season, scoring only 42 runs and taking one wicket in 10 matches. On the other hand, Mayank Dagar played three matches for the Sunrisers Hyderabad last season, claiming one wicket at an economy rate of 7.55.

Pacer Harshal Patel and all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga are likely to be released by the Royal Challengers Bangalore ahead of the mini-auctions. The final list of retained players will be out by Sunday, November 26. Harshal Patel managed 14 wickets last year in 13 matches for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. He had an economy rate of 9.66 in the season. Hasaranga also had a disappointing season. He took nine wickets from eight matches and scored 33 runs.

According to Cricbuzz, the Sunrisers Hyderabad are contemplating releasing Harry Book. The England made his Indian Premier League debut last season. He scored 190 runs in 11 games, at a strike rate of 123.38. He also slammed a century in the season against the Kolkata Knight Riders, smashing 12 fours and three sixes en route to the knock.
