Initiating his assault with a boundary towards backward square leg, Porel unleashed a six over mid-off before dispatching another delivery to the boundary ropes. With relentless aggression, he struck a four towards third man and concluded the onslaught with a towering six over square leg, culminating with a single to complete the 25-run over.
Reflecting on his impactful performance, Porel expressed his strategy of aggressive stroke play, stating, “My plan was to hit the ball where it came from.” He emphasized his readiness for the role entrusted upon him, crediting his preparation for the successful execution on the field.
Porel’s confidence in the team’s ability to defend their total against PBKS was evident as he asserted, “174 is a good score and our bowling unit is good, so let’s see.” Furthermore, Porel’s contribution underscores his growing stature in the IPL, having been retained by the Delhi-based franchise for INR 20 lakh ahead of the auction.
