IPL 2024: [WATCH]- Anuj Rawat Grabs An Incredible Backward Sprint Catch To Dismiss Devdutt Padikkal In The RCB vs LSG Match

In the IPL 2024 clash at M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Tuesday, RCB’s Anuj Rawat showcased brilliance behind the stumps, snagging a superb catch to send LSG’s Devdutt Padikkal packing for just six runs. Lucknow found themselves at 73/2 after 8.5 overs.

Rawat’s remarkable catch occurred in the ninth over when Mohammed Siraj delivered three wides followed by a short ball to Padikkal, who attempted a pull shot but only managed a top edge. Rawat’s backward sprint ensured he secured the catch near third-man, narrowly avoiding a potential face injury.

Padikkal’s poor form persisted in IPL 2024 as he failed to make an impact yet again. After scoring a duck and nine off six balls against Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) respectively, the left-handed batsman continued to struggle.

The 23-year-old Karnataka player was acquired by RR in a trade deal, exchanging Avesh Khan for a hefty sum of INR 7.75 crore.

Quinton de Kock emerges as a key player for LSG in their IPL 2024 match against RCB

In the match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Tuesday, LSG’s batters KL Rahul and Marcus Stoinis squandered promising starts, falling victim to Glenn Maxwell’s impressive bowling spell, which yielded figures of 2/23 in four overs.

At the time of reporting, Lucknow found themselves at 141/3 after 16 overs, with Quinton de Kock and Nicholas Pooran forming a partnership at the crease.

Although LSG suffered a defeat in their opening game against RR by 20 runs, they rebounded with a victory over PBKS by 21 runs. Their upcoming IPL fixture will see them hosting Gujarat Titans at the Ekana Cricket Stadium on Sunday.

Conversely, RCB has been defeated in two of their initial three matches, with their most recent loss being to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by seven wickets. Faf du Plessis and his team will face Rajasthan Royals at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Saturday for their next encounter.
