IPL 2024: [WATCH] Arshdeep Singh’s Stunning Yorker Dismisses Ruturaj Gaikwad In The CSK vs PBKS Match

During the IPL 2024 match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Wednesday, May 1, Punjab Kings (PBKS) fast bowler Arshdeep Singh claimed the wicket of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain Ruturaj Gaikwad, who scored 62 runs off 48 balls.

After a cautious start to his innings, Gaikwad began to accelerate during the latter half, aiming to capitalize on the final overs. However, Arshdeep showcased his expertise as a dependable bowler in the death overs with an impeccable yorker.

In an attempt to manoeuvre the ball past point, Ruturaj Gaikwad adjusted his stance and gave himself space, but Arshdeep Singh’s delivery was too precise, resulting in the ball deflecting onto his off-stump.

Gaikwad’s dismissal appeared to tilt the momentum towards PBKS, as they only allowed 16 runs in the last two overs, limiting CSK to 162/7.

Ruturaj Gaikwad registers the highest score for CSK on a challenging pitch

Ruturaj Gaikwad surpassed Virat Kohli in the Orange Cap competition with an impressive 62-run innings on a challenging batting surface. He currently boasts 509 runs in the tournament, averaging 63.62 with a strike rate of 146.68.

Gaikwad and Ajinkya Rahane started steadily, but the visiting team’s spinners soon gained control over the Chennai Super Kings. Rahul Chahar (2/16) and Harpreet Brar (2/17) collectively conceded only 33 runs in eight overs while claiming four crucial wickets.

Chahar’s exceptional 19th over yielded just three runs and included the dismissal of Moeen Ali. Despite having 11 deliveries to face, MS Dhoni managed only 14 runs. Punjab Kings will be pleased with their bowling display, although the chase may not be straightforward due to the presence of CSK’s skilled spinners.

The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will face the Punjab Kings (PBKS) on May 5th at the HPCA Stadium.
