IPL 2024: [WATCH] Daryl Mitchell Grabs A Tough Catch To Dismiss Virat Kohli In The RCB vs CSK Match

Daryl Mitchell made a sharp catch to dismiss Virat Kohli during the IPL 2024 match between the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Saturday. Kohli’s innings of 47 runs off 29 balls, which included four sixes and three boundaries, came to an end with this catch.

The dismissal occurred in the 10th over of RCB’s innings. Mitchell Santner delivered a sharp ball that drifted in and spun away from the leg stump as Kohli attempted a whip shot. Kohli closed the face of the bat against the turn, resulting in a big edge that flew to Mitchell stationed at long-on.

Mitchell tracked the ball as he moved backwards and managed to take the catch. However, he realized that he was about to step onto the ropes. To avoid conceding a six, he threw the ball up, stepped back, and then completed the catch on the rebound.

Virat Kohli currently tops the run-scoring charts in IPL 2024 with 708 runs in 14 matches, comprising one century and five half-centuries. He aims to contribute to RCB’s journey to the playoffs. The home team needs to win the game by 18 runs to exceed CSK’s net run rate (NRR) and secure a spot in the final four of the points table.

Kohli, the right-handed batsman, aims to maintain his excellent form for the Men in Blue in the upcoming 2024 T20 World Cup. This major ICC event is scheduled to take place in the USA and the West Indies in June.

Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis deliver a scorching start for RCB

In their final league game on Sunday, RCB captain Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli got off to a strong start against CSK. They forged a promising 78-run partnership for the opening wicket. Du Plessis contributed 54 runs from 39 deliveries, including three sixes and an equal number of boundaries.
