IPL 2024: [WATCH]- Kane Williamson Reacts After Losing His Wicket In The GT vs PBKS Match
Kane Williamson

Gujarat Titans (GT) batsman Kane Williamson was disappointed with himself after getting out during the current match against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Thursday (April 4).

This reaction occurred when Williamson hit the ball straight to point off Harpreet Brar’s delivery, departing after scoring 26 runs off 22 balls, with four boundaries. The right-handed batsman was visibly upset and shook his head, regretting his inability to capitalize on a promising start in his first appearance of the season.

Williamson’s dismissal occurred in the ninth over of the GT innings. Brar delivered a short ball outside off, prompting Williamson to try a cut shot, but he ended up offering a straightforward catch to Jonny Bairstow at backward point.

The right-handed batsman struggled to control the bounce, leading to his downfall. This wicket followed immediately after Williamson had hit Brar for a boundary off the previous delivery.

Kane Williamson stepped in for David Miller in the Titans’ lineup due to Miller suffering from a minor injury. This marks the New Zealand captain’s return to IPL action after missing GT’s first game in March last season due to a knee injury.

Shubman Gill stands strong as GT loses wickets against PBKS in IPL 2024

Gujarat Titans’ captain Shubman Gill stood firm despite wickets falling consistently after Punjab Kings chose to bat first in the IPL match on Thursday.

Currently, at 141-3 after 16 overs, Gill (59 runs from 35 balls) and Vijay Shankar (6 runs from 7 balls) are at the crease. Sai Sudharsan was the latest batter to be dismissed, caught behind by Jitesh Sharma off Harshal Patel’s bowling.

Punjab has only won one out of their three games this season. In their previous match, they lost to Lucknow Super Giants by 21 runs. In the meantime, Gujarat has secured two wins in their initial three matches, with their latest victory being a seven-wicket triumph over Sunrisers Hyderabad.
