IPL 2024: [Watch] “Laao Phone Do Na” – Suryakumar Yadav Clicks Photos With Young Fans At Airport

Team India’s dynamic batsman, Suryakumar Yadav, has reportedly been given the green light by the National Cricket Academy (NCA) to compete in the current IPL 2024 season. Recent updates suggest that Suryakumar may join the Mumbai Indians (MI) squad on April 5.

He was recently seen at the airport with his wife, Devisha Shetty. He was also spotted pausing to take photos with young fans. Responding to their request for pictures, Suryakumar can be heard saying:

“Laao phone do na. Kaise loge photo?”

Suryakumar Yadav’s return will significantly bolster Mumbai’s morale, as they have started their season with three consecutive losses and currently sit at the bottom of the IPL 2024 standings.

Suryakumar had been sidelined since injuring his ankle during India’s final T20I against South Africa in December 2023. Additionally, he underwent sports hernia surgery in January and subsequently underwent rehabilitation at the NCA.

Suryakumar Yadav was the top run-scorer for MI last season

Suryakumar Yadav is among the finest T20 players in India. The 33-year-old was the standout performer with the bat for MI in IPL 2023, accumulating 605 runs from 16 matches at an average of 43.21 and a strike rate of 181.13.

He registered five half-centuries and one century for the five-time champions last season. Suryakumar has also excelled at the international level in T20 cricket and currently holds the top spot in the ICC rankings for T20I batsmen.

Suryakumar’s comeback will strengthen MI’s batting lineup. In their recent IPL 2024 match against Rajasthan Royals (RR), Mumbai only managed to score 129 runs and suffered a six-wicket loss.

The team led by Hardik Pandya will face Delhi Capitals (DC) at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday, April 7. It’s worth noting that MI is the only team yet to secure a win this season.
