Mohit Sharma playfully kicked Sai Sudharsan after he mentioned the age gap between them. This occurred following Gujarat Titans’ victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad by seven wickets at the Narendra Modi Stadium last night (May 31).
Gujarat Titans have appointed Sai Sudharsan and Mohit Sharma as Impact Players in IPL 2024. Following GT’s triumph against SRH, the IPL shared a candid conversation between the Titans’ ‘Impact Duo’ on its official website.
Prior to the short interview, Sai humorously pointed out the 15-year age gap between himself and Mohit. Mohit burst into laughter and jokingly attempted to kick Sai in response to his jest. You can watch the video here:
During their informal conversation, Mohit raised concerns among many Gujarat Titans fans regarding Sai’s sluggish strike rate in the middle overs. He then posed a question to Sai about his approach, to which Sai responded:
“Yes, definitely, I also feel sometimes (that I am troubling the team by playing slow). But I think it’s a matter of one or two boundaries, one or two balls here and there. So I don’t just put pressure on myself that I am playing the innings slow because we can get one or two boundaries here and there and just cover it up.”
Mohit concurred that the entire team had faith in Sai, allowing them to relax in the dugout while he was at the crease.

Mohit Sharma clinched the Man of the Match award in the recent GT vs SRH game. The right-arm pacer claimed three crucial wickets in the first innings, significantly contributing to his team’s triumph.
Despite receiving the Man of the Match accolade, Mohit expressed his belief that he wouldn’t have achieved those three wickets without the strong performances of his fellow bowlers. He stated:
“I am feeling good, but the thing is it is not about individual contribution. It is about the team’s contribution. Rashid, Noor and Azmat did their jobs well. They prepared a platform for me. So, I was clear about what I need to do. It was an overall proper team contribution.”

After defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad, Gujarat Titans ascended to the fourth spot in the IPL 2024 standings. Their upcoming match against Punjab Kings is scheduled to take place in Ahmedabad on Thursday.
