IPL 2024: [WATCH]- Nicholas Pooran Shows Anger After Being Bowled By Kagiso Rabada In The LSG vs PBKS Match

Nicholas Pooran delivered a crucial performance for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the IPL 2024 match at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium on Saturday, March 30.

Pooran dominated the Punjab bowlers, smashing 42 runs from only 21 balls, which included three sixes and as many fours. Unfortunately, his innings ended in the 16th over when he was bowled by Kagiso Rabada.

The left-handed batsman attempted a cross-batted lofted shot to an outside off-stump delivery. However, the West Indian couldn’t make the desired connection, resulting in the ball hitting the stumps after brushing the inside edge of his bat.

Pooran appeared visibly frustrated with his choice of shot. You can view the video of the dismissal here:

It’s notable that Nicholas Pooran is captaining LSG in their current match against Punjab in place of their usual captain, KL Rahul. Rahul, serving as an impact substitute, did not field during PBKS’ innings.

Nicholas Pooran’s team scored 199 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs

Lucknow chose to bat after winning the toss against Punjab. KL Rahul got out early, scoring only 15 runs in the fourth over. Adding to LSG’s troubles, Devdutt Padikkal also struggled, scoring only nine runs. However, Nicholas Pooran and Quinton de Kock’s innings helped stabilize Lucknow’s innings.

De Kock achieved a solid half-century, making 54 runs from 38 deliveries. Pooran’s rapid innings provided LSG with crucial momentum. Krunal Pandya also delivered, adding a valuable contribution towards the end. Krunal remained unbeaten with 43 runs from just 22 balls, helping Lucknow reach an impressive total of 199 runs.

Among the Punjab bowlers, Sam Curran stood out, taking three wickets and conceding only 28 runs from four overs. Arshdeep Singh grabbed two wickets, while Kagiso Rabada and Rahul Chahar each took one wicket.
