IPL 2024: [WATCH]- Rohit Sharma Takes On The Role Of Driver For His MI Teammates Before The Clash Against CSK

Former Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper Rohit Sharma recently took on a different role as he sat in the driver’s seat of the team bus before their upcoming match. Mumbai is set to play against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday.

A user shared a video earlier today, offering a glimpse of Rohit Sharma off the field. In the video, he was seen playfully pretending to drive MI’s team bus with his teammates inside.

After leading the franchise for nearly a decade, Rohit Sharma was relieved of his captaincy duties at MI last December. He concluded his tenure on a successful note, securing five IPL trophies in 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2020.

Hardik Pandya was selected as his successor by the team management. Under the new leadership, MI currently occupies the seventh position in the points table, with two wins from five matches in IPL 2024.

“We were all supposed to have one bad day and I guess that was our bad day” -Rohit Sharma discusses India’s loss in the 2023 World Cup final against Australia

During a recent episode of Breakfast with Champions, Rohit Sharma discussed Team India’s devastating defeat in the 2023 World Cup final against Australia.

The Indian captain recognized that his team had performed exceptionally well throughout the tournament and entered the final with great confidence. However, their sole off day of the tournament occurred during the final match, resulting in the loss of the trophy.

Rohit said:

“We played so well up until that final. When we won the semi-finals, I thought, now we’re just a step away. We’re doing all the things right. What’s the one thing that can make us lose the World Cup? Not a single thing came to my mind.”

”Because I thought we ticked all the boxes, we were playing good cricket. Confidence was there. We were all supposed to have one bad day and I guess that was our bad day.”

On his future and retirement plans, Rohit added:

“I haven’t really thought about retirement. But, I don’t know where life takes you. I am still playing well at this point in time – so I am thinking I am going to continue for a few more years and then, I don’t know. I really want to win the World Cup and there is a WTC final in 2025, hopefully India makes it.”

Following IPL 2024, Rohit Sharma will captain India in the 2024 T20 World Cup, set to take place in June in the West Indies and the USA.
