IPL 2024: [WATCH]- SKY And Malinga Appreciate Rohit Sharma’s Signature Pull Shot

The experienced Mumbai Indians (MI) opener Rohit Sharma is renowned for possessing perhaps the finest pull shot in cricket. It has become his trademark stroke due to both the frequency with which he employs it and the effortless manner in which he executes it flawlessly.

This was evident during MI’s practice session before their IPL 2024 match against the Delhi Capitals on Sunday (April 7). In a video shared by Mumbai Indians on their Instagram account, Rohit effortlessly dispatched a six with his classic pull shot, prompting cheers of “Shot, Rohit bhai!”

In the background, players like Suryakumar Yadav and fast bowling coach Lasith Malinga were observed. They watched with admiration as the ball sailed into the stands, marveling at Rohit Sharma’s skill.

Mumbai will be uplifted by Suryakumar Yadav’s return, particularly after a challenging start to the IPL 2024 season, marked by three consecutive losses.

MI requires a significant improvement in batting performance from Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma boasts an impressive strike rate of 164.29 in the IPL 2024 season thus far. However, despite showing intent, the former MI captain has only managed to score 69 runs in three innings, which includes a golden duck in their recent match against the Rajasthan Royals.

While Rohit’s intent as an opener has been evident, the five-time IPL champions also require him to contribute significantly in terms of runs. There has been speculation about whether relinquishing the burden of captaincy could enhance Rohit’s batting performance, but this hasn’t materialized yet.

However, with 11 league games remaining, MI remains hopeful that their star player can produce a substantial innings soon and then capitalize on the momentum to ensure a successful season.

The Mumbai Indians will face the Delhi Capitals at the Wankhede Stadium on April 6th.
