During a cricket game in Bengaluru, Virat Kohli played well for his team, RCB, against KKR. He scored 83 runs without getting out, helping RCB reach a good score of 182/6. But what got everyone talking wasn’t just his batting skills. At halftime, he was surprised when his teammate gave him the Orange Cap, a prize for being the leading run-scorer.
Kohli usually looks very serious when he plays, but this time, he showed a funny side by not expecting to get the cap and being surprised by it. It reminded everyone that even famous athletes like Kohli can have funny moments. KKR won the game by being the first away team to win this season. They chased RCB’s score of 183 runs, with Sunil Narine playing aggressively and scoring 47 runs off just 22 balls.

Du Plessis: “They Played Really Well and Won the Game Easily”
Despite Kohli’s great performance, KKR’s strong batting and good bowling were too much for RCB to handle. After the game, RCB’s captain, Faf du Plessis, talked about how well KKR played and how tough it was for his team. He praised KKR’s batting and acknowledged the challenges faced by RCB’s bowlers in trying to stop KKR’s aggressive play.
“Strange one, first innings we thought that the wicket was very two-paced, you could see that when the guys bowled the cutters, back of a length, the guys really struggled.”
“We thought it was a decent score knowing that it gets a little bit easier in the evening, there was a little bit of dew that came in. The way the two of them (Narine and Slat) were striking the ball, some really good batting there, they put pressure on our bowlers. They hit strong cricket shots and pretty much took the game away.”
“With Narine there, you can’t really go to spin, you want to use pace upfront. That’s also a really good match-up for Salt and the way he plays. They were excellent, really broke the game in the first six overs. We’ve tried the spinning options with Maxi, the finger-spinners seem be be effective here, but at night there wasn’t too much spin, With left-hand, right-hand combination, it’s one of those things, you can bowl a spinner,” he said during the post-match presentation as quoted by Cricbuzz.
