IPL 2024: [WATCH] Virat Kohli Meets KKR Players Following The RCB vs KKR Match

Despite the early IPL 2024 stage, Kohli conveyed a serious message to teammates post-KKR match. Virat Kohli did his best in the last two matches for Royal Challengers Bangalore at their home ground.

Even though RCB won against Punjab Kings because of his strong performance, scoring 77 runs, they lost to Kolkata Knight Riders despite his good innings of 83 runs.

Kohli scored his second consecutive half-century, with Cameron Green providing support in a 65-run partnership for the second wicket, followed by a 42-run stand with Glenn Maxwell for the third wicket.

However, none of them were able to convert their starts into big scores. As a result, RCB could only manage to reach 186 for six, as KKR’s tactic of using slower deliveries effectively thwarted their scoring in the latter part of the innings.

Later, KKR successfully chased down the target, propelled by a rapid start from Sunil Narine and a fifty off 29 balls from Venkatesh Iyer, with 19 balls remaining.

This victory marked KKR’s eighth win at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, equaling the highest number of wins by any IPL team at the venue against RCB. This includes a streak of victories since 2015.

Following the match, Kohli received the Player of the Match hamper in the RCB dressing room. While initially starting with humor as he accepted the award, the former RCB captain, addressing his teammates, expressed his belief that they are capable of performing better than they did against KKR on Friday.

Kohli encouraged the players to demonstrate courage and faith in their abilities as RCB continues with the rest of the season.

Kohli talks to RCB teammates post-KKR loss

“On a more serious note, we had a tough night, we all know that. We are much better than that, so, as long as we accept it, and move forward with the same courage, and the same belief in our skills. That is all we can come up with, so let us stay on that path,” Kohli said.

After suffering their second loss in IPL 2024, the first being against defending champions Chennai Super Kings in the season opener last week, RCB currently occupy the sixth position in the table with two points earned from their victory against Punjab.

Faf du Plessis’ team will take on Lucknow Super Giants at home on April 2.
