In the IPL 2025 match against Mumbai Indians on May 1, the Rajasthan Royals surprised fans by wearing an all-pink jersey. This was part of their ‘Pink Promise’ campaign, which focuses on promoting women-led development across Rajasthan.
The franchise aimed to make a bold statement both on and off the field through this initiative. By changing their jersey color, they wanted to highlight the importance of empowering women and encourage broader support for social transformation in the state.
Turning Cricket Into a Force for Good
Rajasthan Royals took several steps to make this match meaningful beyond the game. For every ticket sold for the match, the team pledged ₹100 towards supporting women-led change in Rajasthan.
They also announced a unique solar energy initiative: for every six hit during the game—regardless of the team—six homes in the Sambhar region would be powered using solar energy.
Additionally, all funds raised from the sale of the special pink jerseys will be used for social causes through the Rajasthan Royals Foundation. These efforts show how sports can play a strong role in community building and environmental sustainability.

At a crucial point in the season with only three wins in ten matches, Rajasthan Royals are placed eighth on the points table. In this match, captain Riyan Parag won the toss and chose to field first.
He explained: “We’ll bowl first, we might see some dew later, but this wicket settles later in the game. We have kept it very simple. Rahul sir has made it very clear to keep the celebrations intact, but it was fun. Three games ago, the message was to take one game at a time. We have seen what we can do when at our best.”
