IPL 2025 : “Not Acceptable”, Patidar Slams RCB Batting Collapse

Royal Challengers Bengaluru captain Rajat Patidar expressed frustration over his team’s batting failure in their six-wicket defeat to Delhi Capitals. He was particularly upset that the team lost wickets in quick succession after a strong start. RCB were 60 for 1 at one point but soon slipped to 90 for 4, losing momentum completely.

Rajat Patidar described this performance as “not acceptable,” especially since the batters were in good form and showing intent. The captain admitted that the team misjudged the pitch and match situation. Even though Tim David scored 37 and tried to increase the run rate in the final overs, the total of 163 for 7 was below expectations. He also praised the efforts of RCB’s fast bowlers who had earlier reduced Delhi to 30 for 3, but the batting failure proved costly.

KL Rahul’s Calm and Clever Knock

Delhi Capitals’ KL Rahul was named Player of the Match for his unbeaten 93, which guided his team to victory with 13 balls to spare. Rahul said keeping wickets for 20 overs helped him understand the nature of the pitch, which he described as tricky but consistent. Observing how the ball behaved and where other batters succeeded or failed gave him useful insights.

He used this information smartly, choosing the right areas to target for boundaries and sixes. Rahul explained that knowing the ground conditions at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium well, as it’s his home ground, gave him added confidence. His habit of experimenting during practice to adapt to different conditions also helped him plan his innings better. He stressed the importance of understanding where singles and big hits could be taken, which guided his shot selection.

DC’s Confidence Soars with Another Win

Delhi Capitals captain Axar Patel was pleased with his team’s fourth consecutive win. He said the team was playing with high confidence and making smart decisions based on pitch conditions. Patel noted that they focused on match-ups and chose to use spin early since the ball was turning and bouncing.

This strategy paid off as the spinners, Kuldeep Yadav and Vipraj Nigam, put pressure on RCB. Axar praised KL Rahul for playing a mature and responsible innings, especially in a pressure situation. Although Patel admitted playing a poor shot himself, he was happy that Rahul stayed calm and finished the game. He also highlighted Rahul’s versatility and how valuable it is to have a player who can adjust to different roles in the team.
