Rajasthan Royals (RR) are preparing for another important clash at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, but they will have to do so without their skipper, Sanju Samson. According to a source, Samson has been actively involved in all of RR’s recent training sessions. He took part in practices over the weekend and trained again on Sunday.

Despite his efforts, he will not be available for Monday’s match. During the team’s away game in Bengaluru, Samson stayed back in Jaipur to continue his rehabilitation. The RR management is adopting a cautious, match-by-match approach regarding his return. There is some hope that the Kerala-born cricketer could recover in time for the team’s final two group stage matches, but his availability remains uncertain at this point.

Injury Update: Side Strain Keeps Sanju Samson Out

The injury concerns for Sanju Samson date back to the Royals’ match against Delhi Capitals on April 16. While batting during that game, Samson began to feel discomfort in his rib area. After scoring 31 runs, he had to leave the field retired hurt. Later medical evaluations confirmed a side strain, which ruled him out of subsequent matches.

Prior to this setback, Samson had been an important part of the RR batting lineup. He had played in seven matches, scoring 224 runs at an impressive average of 37.33 and maintaining a healthy strike rate of 140. His absence has definitely impacted RR, considering the form and stability he brought to the team’s middle order.

Continued Setbacks: Samson to Miss Third Straight Game

Sanju Samson’s recovery has been slow, and the Royals are feeling the effects of his absence. Earlier in the season, Samson was restricted to playing only as a batter in the opening three games due to a directive from the BCCI that prevented him from taking up wicketkeeping duties.

Now, with his side strain, the situation has become even more complicated. The upcoming match will mark the third consecutive game Samson will miss. His leadership on the field and experience with the bat are vital for RR’s campaign, and the franchise will be hoping for a quick recovery as the playoffs draw nearer.
