IPL 2025: [WATCH]- Lasith Malinga Bursts Into Laughter As MI Star Shows Up In Superman Suit Before SRH Clash

Mumbai Indians (MI) bowling coach Lasith Malinga couldn’t stop laughing as star batter Tilak Varma showed up in a Superman-inspired suit ahead of their IPL 2025 clash with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). The two sides are set to meet in Hyderabad on Wednesday, April 23.

During MI’s travel for the upcoming fixture, Tilak turned heads with his unique Superman costume, customized with the team’s colors and logo. Lasith Malinga, seated next to him, burst into laughter upon seeing the quirky outfit.

Tilak Varma has emerged as a vital contributor for Mumbai Indians (MI) this season, amassing 231 runs in six innings at an impressive average of 46.20 and a strike rate of 141.71. He has notched up two fifties, with a highest score of 59.

MI aim to extend their strong form following a remarkable comeback

Mumbai Indians (MI)  have developed a reputation for slow starts, and this season has followed a similar pattern. They opened their campaign with a loss to arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings (CSK), followed by another defeat to Gujarat Titans.

Although they secured their first win of the season against Kolkata Knight Riders in their third match, setbacks against Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bengaluru soon followed. With just one win in their first five games, MI found themselves languishing in the lower half of the table.

However, the five-time champions have staged a strong comeback, stringing together three consecutive victories—against Delhi Capitals, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Chennai Super Kings—heading into their next clash with SRH.

Now with four wins and four losses from eight matches, MI are in a much stronger position than earlier in the tournament. With the playoff race heating up and the top half of the table tightly contested, maintaining momentum and securing another win will be crucial for MI.
