IPL 2025: [WATCH]- Phil Salt Blasts 30-Run Over Off Mitchell Starc In IPL 2025

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) opener Phil Salt unleashed an aggressive assault on Mitchell Starc during their IPL 2025 clash against Delhi Capitals (DC) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Thursday, April 10. The right-hander smashed two sixes and three fours as Starc conceded 30 runs in his second over of the innings.

The explosive knock came in the third over of RCB’s innings. Salt began with a towering six over mid-on, followed by three successive boundaries. He then capitalized on a free-hit by sending the ball over the keeper for another six. After taking a single off the fifth ball, Virat Kohli ended the over with a leg-bye that raced to the boundary.

Phil Salt, acquired by RCB for INR 11.50 crore at the IPL 2025 mega auction, has delivered strong performances this season. The 28-year-old had earlier scored 56 off 31 balls against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and 32 off 16 against Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Phil Salt’s quickfire innings cut short by run out

Phil Salt was run out in unfortunate fashion during the IPL 2025 match between RCB and DC. The right-handed batter set off for a quick single but was sent back by Virat Kohli from the non-striker’s end in the fourth over. He lost his footing while turning back and couldn’t make his ground as Vipraj Nigam fired in a direct throw to wicketkeeper KL Rahul, who completed the dismissal.

Salt walked back after scoring a quickfire 37 off 17 deliveries, including three sixes and four fours. The Bengaluru-based side will now be aiming for their first home win of the season, having suffered a defeat to Gujarat Titans (GT) in their previous outing at the venue.

They come into this match on the back of a 12-run victory over Mumbai Indians (MI) and currently have three wins from four games, all of which came in away fixtures at Kolkata, Chennai, and Mumbai.
