The Lucknow Super Giants took full advantage of the batting-friendly conditions, led by a breathtaking innings from Nicholas Pooran. Rohit Sharma & Rickelton Star in Mumbai’s Record Opening Stand
Mumbai’s response was headlined by the emotional and explosive return of Rohit Sharma. Opening alongside Ryan Rickelton, the duo dismantled the LSG bowling attack with a record-breaking 143-run opening stand in just 10.5 overs.
Rickelton was in devastating form, bludgeoning 83 off 32 balls, featuring six boundaries and eight sixes at a strike rate of 259.38. On the other end, Rohit Sharma looked like he had never been away, scoring a sublime 84 off 44 balls, including seven sixes and six fours.
Despite a brief middle-order wobble where Suryakumar Yadav (12) and Tilak Varma (11) fell relatively cheaply, the platform set by the openers was too strong to overcome.
