IPL 2026: RR Secure A Clinical Victory Over RCB In Guwahati Thriller
Rajasthan Royals

Rajasthan Royals (RR) continued their clinical run in IPL 2026, securing a thrilling 6-wicket victory over Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the ACA Stadium in Guwahati. Chasing a formidable target of 202, the Royals showcased incredible batting depth to cross the finish line with 12 balls to spare.

This win further solidifies Rajasthan’s position at the top of the table, while RCB is left to rue missed opportunities in a high-scoring encounter that kept fans on the edge of their seats. The match began with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru being put into bat, and they recovered well after an early blitz from Virat Kohli, who struck a brisk 32 off 16 balls.

The innings was anchored by captain Rajat Patidar, whose composed 63 off 40 deliveries provided the necessary platform for a big total. Despite disciplined spells from RR’s Ravi Bishnoi and Jofra Archer, who both claimed two wickets apiece, a late surge from the RCB lower order propelled them to a strong total of 201/8.

However, the chase belonged entirely to the Royals’ young sensation, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. The 15-year-old phenom dismantled the RCB bowling attack with a breathtaking 78 off just 26 balls, striking at a massive rate of 300. His innings, which included seven towering sixes, effectively broke the back of the chase within the Powerplay.

Although Sooryavanshi fell shortly after, the momentum he provided allowed Dhruv Jurel to play a masterful knock of 81 off 43 balls*, guiding the team home with calm authority.

Rajasthan Royals Secure Top Spot with Strong Team Mix

This victory highlights the Rajasthan Royals’ status as the team to beat this season, successfully blending youthful aggression with the experienced finishing of players like Jurel and Jadeja.  For RCB, the performance of Patidar and Kohli remains a positive, but their bowling unit struggled to contain the Royals’ onslaught under the Guwahati lights.

As the tournament progresses, RR looks like a well-oiled machine, while RCB will need to find more consistency in their defense of high totals.
