IPL 2026: [WATCH] Kartik Tyagi Fires Back To Dismiss Sanju Samson With A Stunning Delivery
Kartik Tyagi (IMage: BCCI)

Kartik Tyagi dismissed Sanju Samson in the IPL 2026 match between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders at MA Chidambaram Stadium on Tuesday, April 14. He got the big wicket right after being hit for a six on the previous ball.

This happened in the 12th over of CSK’s innings. After being smashed for six off a slower ball, Tyagi came back with a fast delivery at 148.1 kmph. The ball was pitched full on middle and off, and Samson lost his balance while trying to play a shot towards the square side. He missed it completely, and the ball crashed into the stumps.

Sanju Samson got out after scoring 48 runs off 32 balls, hitting three sixes and four fours. With his dismissal, Chennai Super Kings lost their third wicket at 111 runs. The 31-year-old had earlier scored an unbeaten century against Delhi Capitals in the previous match.

Chennai Super Kings suffer setbacks as Sanju Samson, Ayush Mhatre depart one after another

Chennai Super Kings, led by Ruturaj Gaikwad, lost two set batters — Sanju Samson and Ayush Mhatre— one after the other in their IPL 2026 match against Kolkata Knight Riders.

Kartik Tyagi dismissed Samson, while Vaibhav Arora removed the dangerous-looking Mhatre, who made 38 runs off just 17 balls. Earlier, Anukul Roy gave KKR an early breakthrough by getting Gaikwad out for a single-digit score.

At the time of writing, CSK were 136/3 after 14 overs, with Dewald Brevis (25 off 18) and Sarfaraz Khan(13 off 11) at the crease. CSK will look to keep their momentum going after beating Delhi Capitals for their first win following three straight losses.

On the other hand, KKR are still searching for their first win this season. The Ajinkya Rahane-led side has lost three matches, while one game against Punjab Kings was washed out due to rain. In their last meeting in 2025, CSK defeated KKR by two wickets.
