Ambati Rayudu, a former IPL winner for the Chennai Super Kings, lambasted the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) after they lost to Rajasthan on Friday night.

In the eliminator, the Rajasthan Royals defeated Royal Challengers Bengaluru by four wickets, riding the 45 and 36-run innings of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Riyan Parag.

After a tumultuous 173-run chase, Rajasthan emerged victorious thanks to a late burst from Rovman Powell, the West Indies T20 skipper, who finished with a six.

Earlier on Wednesday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeated Rajasthan Royals 172/8 thanks to contributions from Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar, and Mahipal Lamror. R Ashwin, who has taken two wickets while conceding just 19 runs, has been the most effective bowler for RR.

“To win the IPL trophy, you will have to play well”- Ambati Rayudu

Ambati Rayudu had some choice words for RCB when he spoke to Star Sports last night following the Rajasthan Royals’ advancement to the next round. Bengaluru’s performance and their ferocious celebration upon receiving confirmation of their top-4 finish were subject to harsh criticism from Rayudu.

“IPL Trophies are not won by celebrations and aggression. IPL Trophy is not winning by only beating CSK. To win the IPL trophy you will have to play well in the Playoffs.” – Ambati Rayudu said this via Star Sports.

In the meantime, the Rajasthan Royals have confirmed their Qualifier 2 matchup against Pat Cummins’ Sunrisers Hyderabad tomorrow. The MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, home of the defending champions, will host the final two games of the 2024 Indian Premier League, including the championship match.

The battle between the teams in second and third place in the points standings, who want to face KKR in the championship, could be exciting.
