Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s brilliant bowling performance was on display at The Village in Dublin on Sunday during the first T20I against Ireland. India won the match by seven wickets to spare, chasing 108 runs. They are now leading the two-match T20I series 1-0. During the course of the match, the fans were left baffled by Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s bowling speed.

India won the toss and asked Ireland to bat first. Paul Stirling and Andrew Balbirnie opened the innings for the hosts, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar took the new ball. The Indian pacer used the conditions effectively, swinging the balls. He dismissed the Ireland skipper Andrew Balbirnie with a brilliant inswinging delivery.

Amid his fantastic bowling performance, the fans were left baffled by the speedometer. It showed Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowling at around 200kmph-plus speed. The first delivery that the pacer bowled clocked at 201kmph, while another in the same over read 208 kmph.

Let’s take a look at how the fans reacted to the speedometer glitch:

Always good to bowl Test-match line and length-Ā  Bhuvneshwar Kumar

Bhuvneshwar Kumar finished the match with bowling figures of 1/16 in his three overs at an economy rate of 5.3, including a maiden over. Speaking post-match, Bhuvneshwar Kumar expressed that he enjoyed bowling on this wicket. He added that on such pitches, test match line and length can be effective.

“Yes, I did enjoy bowling. There was a bit of swing with the new ball. It was much better to bat after 4-5 overs. Doesn’t matter what format it is, if you get these kinds of wickets it is always good to bowl Test-match line and length.”,Ā  Bhuvneshwar Kumar said.

The second T20I between India and Ireland will take place on Tuesday, June 28 at The Village in Dublin. India is leading the two-match T20I series 1-0, after the first game.
