Irfan Pathan begins his role as a mentor for Jammu and Kashmir Cricket

Irfan Pathan One of the main reasons behind India”s success at the WT20 2007. He was one of the lethal bowlers and a handy all-rounder in his times when he ripped several batting orders apart in the beginning overs.

The left arm bowler was handed over the responsibility as a guide as well as a player for the Jammu and Kashmir cricket a few months back. He held selection camps across all the regions of the state and monitored the progress of the youngsters.

Speaking on the same Pathan said to ANI that the kids are giving their best in the nets but lacking the knowledge on fitness. He further added that proper training schedule will make the dreams a bit closer.

On the infrastructure facilities in Jamming and Kashmir, Pathan said “Cricket association here is very keen to work towards improving the facilities. Earlier there used to be only one kind of pitch but I have requested the ground staff to provide me with three four types of pitches so that youngsters can get more exposure. “

The camp also saw the state”s star player Parveez Rasool in the nets. It is to be noted that Rasool is the only player till now to represent the nation from Jammu. With Pathan in the squad, it will be interesting how well he can groom the next generation to come out in flying colours.

The younger Pathan in his role as an analyst/commentator amazed his fans during the IPL season. He even engaged in some jamming sessions with Brett Lee in the sets.
