Irfan Pathan Gives Witty Reply To Fan’s ‘Hookah’ Question After Old Video Goes Viral

Former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan gave a witty reply on X to a fan’s hookah-related question after an old video resurfaced. In a 2020 interview, Pathan had hinted that MS Dhoni showed bias in team selections. Referring to that, a fan jokingly asked him about setting up a hookah, to which Pathan responded that he would share it with the former captain.

In the 2020 Sports Tak interview with Vikrant Gupta, Pathan mentioned that he had once asked Dhoni about his bowling in the 2008 Commonwealth Bank series, following media reports claiming the skipper was unhappy. However, he later took a subtle dig at Dhoni during the same conversation, saying (via The Times of India):

“I don’t have a habit of setting up hookah in someone’s room or talking about this. Everyone knows. Sometimes if you don’t speak about it, it’s better. A cricketer’s job is to perform on the field and that is what I used to focus on.”

After posting a picture to wish Mohammed Shami on his birthday, a fan asked Pathan about the hookah, saying:

“Pathan bhai woh Hookey ka kya hua?”

The former Indian all-rounder humorously replied:

“Mein or @msdhoni sath Beth kar pienge;)”

Irfan Pathan’s remark on MS Dhoni went viral, raising questions about the legendary captain’s man-management, despite his successful record, including the 2007 T20 WC, 2011 ODI WC, and 2013 Champions Trophy wins.

In the IPL, he played for several teams, including Punjab Kings (formerly Kings XI Punjab), Delhi Capitals (formerly Delhi Daredevils), SunRisers Hyderabad, and Rising Pune Supergiants. He now works as a commentator.
