Irfan Pathan made his presence felt with good performances with both bat and ball in the Kiran More T20 tournament 2017/18. Kiran More, Essel Group Chairman, Subash Chandra and Kapil started the intercity league in 2015. Last year final match was played between Reliance and GSFC on 24th January 2017 at Reliance Stadium, Vadodara.

Reliance made 139 in 19.5 overs with contributions from Irfan Pathan 26 off 30 balls, Miten Shah 27 off 9 balls and Kamran Shiekh Junior. It was a brilliant bowling display by Reliance bowlers which helped them to win the title.

In this year’s tournament, Reliance took on M.S.S University. Reliance Sports Club made a massive total of 278 with Kedar Devdhar scoring 147* not out off 68 balls with 16 fours and 8 sixes, Dhiren Mistry 98 off 46 balls with 11 fours and 4 sixes, Akshay More 35 off 29 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes were the main contributors. For M.S.S University, Irfan Pathan was the pick of bowlers taking 4 for 21 in 4 overs, Atit Sheth and Soaeb Tai picked 2 wickets each.

Chasing the massive target of 279, Irfan Pathan scored 25 off 7 balls. M.S.S University only scored 149 for 9 in 20 overs. Reliance Sports Club won the match by 129 runs. Kedar Devdhar was named the man of the match for his 147 not out.

Irfan Pathan did not play many matches for Baroda this season in Ranji Trophy 2017/18 season. He continued his impressive performance. He represented India in 29 test matches, 120 ODI’s and 24T20Is. The promising all-rounder was a part of the team which won the inaugural T20 World Cup held in South Africa. Pathan made his test debut in 2003 and played his last match in 2008.

Pathan is performing well and would continue to perform in the same way to make a comeback into the Indian team which looks highly unlikely.
