For any individual, meeting their childhood hero or Idol is always a dream come true moment. However, there will be only a few fortunate people to get a chance to meet them. One of those lucky persons is Ishan Kishan, who was signed by Mumbai Indians, where he met his idol, Sachin Tendulkar, for the first time.

A young Kishan was signed by Mumbai Indians for INR 6.2 crore at the 2018 IPL auction and it was during one of his early training sessions with the team that 21-year-old had his fan-boy moment with Sachin Tendulkar.

I don’t think I heard anything he spoke – Ishan Kishan

The wicket-keeper batsman has since been part of the Mumbai franchise. Recalling his first meeting with Sachin Tendulkar, the Jharkhand player revealed that it was just after he was bought by the franchise. Ishan Kishan further revealed his conversation with Rohit Sharma.

“I still remember the time when I first met Sachin Paaji (Tendulkar). He had come to see our practise session at Mumbai Indians. It was just after I got signed. I had been chatting with Rohit Bhai (Sharma) and told him about how I worshipped Sachin Paaji all these years and now, suddenly he is in front of me,” he said.

“Rohit Bhai told me to go and have a chat. Fortunately, Sachin Paaji himself came towards me to have a talk. I don’t think I heard anything that he spoke, I was just watching him speak,” Kishan was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.

Though his domestic graph continues to show an upward curve during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he failed to replicate the similar show for Mumbai Indians in Indian Premier League. However, he proved his worth with a whirlwind 21-ball 62 against the Kolkata Knight Riders, which included four consecutive sixes off Kuldeep Yadav.

Though his form dipped in IPL2019, Mumbai Indians retained him for the upcoming season of IPL 2020. The youngster is looking for one good season to push for a place in the Indian National Cricket Team.
