The incident took place in the second qualifier of IPL 2019 when Chennai Super Kings went up against Delhi Capitals. Both teams played some outstanding cricket throughout the competition to reach the playoffs with the Super Kings aiming to defend their title.

“Last year in the IPL, Mahi bhai (Dhoni) used to make fun of me that I can’t hit sixes, saying you don’t have that ability. Then came Jaddu (Jadeja) and I punished him for a four and then I launched a six. Then I turned my head towards Mahi bhai to see his reaction, who looked irritated with Jaddu,” he told Gaurav Kapur on a youtube show Isolation Premier League.
However, Chennai Super Kings took the game home chasing the target in just 19 overs with six wickets remaining. Chasing 148 runs, Shane Watson and Faf du Plessis posted individual fifties to take their side to another final where they lost to Mumbai Indians.
