Former India skipper MS Dhoni has made a name for himself for being calm and composed on the cricket field. Along with being the best finisher in the world and the smartest wicket-keeper, Dhoni is also highly regarded for his cool head even in crunch situations.
But even the best slips at some point of time. On several instances, MS Dhoni has lost his cool on the field and his emotions got the better of him. Recently, Ishant Sharma recalled one instance from the last edition of the Indian Premier League where he irritated Dhoni hitting Ravindra Jadeja for a four and six.
The incident took place in the second qualifier of IPL 2019 when Chennai Super Kings went up against Delhi Capitals. Both teams played some outstanding cricket throughout the competition to reach the playoffs with the Super Kings aiming to defend their title.
Meanwhile, it was MS Dhoni who started the banter taunting Ishant saying that he cannot hit a six. The tall and lanky fast bowler from Delhi responded with a four and six which got the better of Dhoni, who seemed furious with the bowler and also gave a mouthful.
“Last year in the IPL, Mahi bhai (Dhoni) used to make fun of me that I can’t hit sixes, saying you don’t have that ability. Then came Jaddu (Jadeja) and I punished him for a four and then I launched a six. Then I turned my head towards Mahi bhai to see his reaction, who looked irritated with Jaddu,” he told Gaurav Kapur on a youtube show Isolation Premier League.
However, Chennai Super Kings took the game home chasing the target in just 19 overs with six wickets remaining. Chasing 148 runs, Shane Watson and Faf du Plessis posted individual fifties to take their side to another final where they lost to Mumbai Indians.
