Mumbai batter Sarfaraz Khan has been an absolute run machine for the domestic giants over the last few seasons. Despite his staggering record in first-class cricket, the right-handed batter keeps getting ignored at the international level. Former India cricketer Venkatesh Prasad has slammed the Indian selectors for not picking Sarfaraz Khan in the squad for the Border Gavaskar Trophy.

The series begins on February 9 at the Vidarbha Cricket Association in Nagpur. The Board of Control for Cricket in India recently announced the squad for the first two test matches of the series. The absence of Sarfaraz Khan from the team created a lot of uproar on social media. Fans slammed the Indian selectors for not picking the Mumbai cricketer.

Sharing his thoughts on Sarfaraz Khan’s exclusion, Venkatesh Prasad expressed it is an abuse of domestic cricket. He added that the 25-year-old is fit enough to score runs and play for India. Venkatesh Prasad tweeted,

“Not having him in the Test Team despite 3 blockbuster domestic seasons is not only unfair on Sarfaraz Khan, but it’s an abuse to domestic cricket, almost as if this platform doesn’t matter. And he is FIT to score those runs. As far as body weight goes, there are many with more kgs.”
