Gujarat Titans (GT) won the 2022 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). They defeated Rajasthan Royals (RR) by seven wickets in the final of IPL 2022 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Gujarat became the 2nd team after Rajasthan to win IPL title in their inaugural season itself. Hardik Pandya led Gujarat dominated throughout the tournament. They had different heroes in different matches. Matthew Wade failed to create an impact.
Recently Wade in an interview with SEN radio described about his experience of IPL this year. He told that it was amazing atmosphere to play infront of a crowd of more than 1 lakh people. Matthew Wade also stated that winning the IPL as close to as winning World Cup.
“It’s as close to winning a World Cup as you can get. It was a crazy atmosphere and something I’ll never forget — 104,000 people; I didn’t think I’d ever play in front of that many,” the southpaw said.

Matthew Wade was bought by Gujarat Titans at a price of Rs 2.40 crore in IPL 2022 auctions. Wade gained a lot of limelight after his performance in semifinal of T20 World Cup 2021. However, he failed to live upto his expectations.
“It was a different kind of feeling to a World Cup where you’ve spent a few years trying to build a team to get there but this one has got all the glitz and glamour on it, and they do it differently over in India and they put on a show,” Matthew Wade added.
The Aussie wicket-keeper batter scored just 157 runs in 10 innings at a poor strike rate of 113 in IPL 2022.
