There have been several ridiculously hilarious incidents that have taken place on the cricket field from the batsman running out the non-striker to a batsman getting dismissed after the ball getting ricochet off the non-striker’s pad, we have truly seen one of the funniest sights you would ever witness on the cricket field.
Similarly, during the ongoing Big Bash Season, something really funny took place on the field when a batsman was run out twice on the same delivery. This happened during the game between Sydney Thunder and Adelaide Strikers when Strikers Batsman Jake Weatherald got run out twice on the same delivery as first up he was run out at the non-striker’s end.
Post which he was also run out at the striker’s end as confusion struck between the batsman when the bowler was appealing for the runout inflicted at the non-striker’s end.
Jake Weatherald Gets Run-Out Twice Off The Same Delivery
As the batsman looked to steal a single in the process, the non-striker Jake Weatherald who was distracted by the appeal by the bowler wasn’t aware that his partner at the strikers’ end has taken off for a single and by the time Weatherald looked back at his partner it was too late since the wicket-keeper inflicted an excellent dismissal since the fielder had thrown the ball wide.
On reviewing both the appeals, it was shown on the big screen that Jake Weatherald had fallen short on both occasions thus getting run out twice on the same ball. In the end, it was Adelaide strikers who won the match by 6 runs after restricting the Sydney Thunder to 153/7 at the end of 20 overs, thus falling short of the target.
