James Anderson Frustrated After Missing Out From The Sri Lanka Series

England National Cricket Team have left out veteran fast bowler James Anderson for the upcoming two-match series against Sri Lanka starting from March 19 at the Galle International Stadium in Galle. Anderson, who has been the face of England's fast bowling over a decade now, vented his frustration after being left out of the squad.

Anderson has had his love and hate relationship with injuries in recent times and has missed most of the cricket in the last two years. However, he declared himself fit after recovering from a rib injury, due to which he missed a few matches against South Africa. But the selectors overlooked James Anderson, England's record wicket-taker in red-ball cricket.

The Lancashire cricketer vented his frustration before adding that he has nothing to do other than facing reality. England have named Stuart Broad, Dominic Bess, Mark Wood, and Matthew Parkinson as pacers with Sam Curran and Chris Woakes doing the all-rounder's duty.

“It was very frustrating but it happens, there’s not a lot I can do about it,” Anderson, who has taken 584 wickets in 151 Tests, was quoted as saying by metro.co.uk.

After the Test drubbing, James Anderson is focused to deliver the goods for Lancashire in the County Championship. The right-arm pacer also emphasised that he is not injured and has been training for almost two weeks now and is in a good rhythm.

I’m just focusing on the summer and starting the season with Lancashire because all I can do is focus on when I can play cricket next and that’s with Lancashire and hopefully I can. ‘I’m not injured. I have been bowling for two weeks now.

“I’ve not had that many county pre-seasons, because I’ve been touring with England most of the time. ‘I am just excited to get outside, I have been inside for most of this winter," Anderson concluded.
