India’s premier fast bowler, Jasprit Bumrah, has retained the top ICC Test rankings for bowlers, having received a career-high 908 rating points. The Indian pace bowling icon broke the earlier record of the highest rating for an Indian bowler and was initially at 907 points before the fifth Test against Australia. Bumrah increased his rating by one point after taking two wickets in the first innings at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).

The outstanding performance of Bumrah has placed him as the highest Test bowler in the world today. The fact that he has been able to deliver quality performance for long makes him famous and adorable.

That said, Bumrah’s fitness will remain decisive when the Indian cricket team is setting the stage for future contests. His record-breaking rating speaks volumes, believe me, about him and the efforts he pours in for the sport.

Jasprit Bumrah keeps the top spot; Pat Cummins takes second place

Jasprit Bumrah attained a new high in the ICC Test Rankings in terms of the rating, as he stands 908. On this front, Ravindra Jadeja has gained 21 places to joint ninth, alongside Australian fast bowler Scott Boland. Boland has climbed 29 places up the rankings after taking 10 wickets in the Sydney Test.

Boland’s contribution was crucial to help Australia secure the series, which was for the first time after a decade, taking back the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. He also performed well in the bowling department, taking four wickets for 31 in the first innings and six wickets for 45 in the second innings. The ratings have been revised to incorporate the new Test series results, though Bumrah and Boland are prime examples.

Taking five wickets in the final Test helped Australian captain Pat Cummins climb to second position in the rankings. Australia’s Josh Hazlewood fell two spots to fourth position because of injury, while Kagiso Rabada of South Africa rose one spot to third.
