Virat Kohli and RCB kick off IPL 2025 on a winning note

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli and RCB have gotten off to a strong start in the IPL 2025 season. The Bengaluru-based franchise faced defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the tournament opener and secured a seven-wicket win in Kolkata.

They then traveled to Chennai, where they outplayed the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Chepauk, winning by a commanding margin of 50 runs. Although their following match at home ended in a defeat against Gujarat Titans (GT), they bounced back with a nail-biting victory over Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Wankhede Stadium.

With three wins from their first four matches, RCB currently sit in the top half of the points table. Virat Kohli has played a pivotal role in their early success. The star batter has scored 164 runs in four games so far, averaging 54.66 with a strike rate of 143.85.

He has also notched up two half-centuries — a 59* off 36 balls in the opener against KKR and a crucial 67 from 42 deliveries against MI, displaying excellent form.
