Umpires getting trolled for bad umpiring is becoming a regular thing at the IPL. This has been one thing that has been consistent over the past few years in the IPL. Today we have seen another one of those instances in the game between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

Over the years, the quality of the umpiring in the IPL has gone down. Even though the technology has improved for the umpires but the decision that is in the hands of the umpires are still somewhat controversial. Many captains have also shown their anger and emotion whenever an umpire gets the call wrong and have suggested some better measures for the calls.

During today’s match between Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders, Sanju Samson showed his emotions whenever a call wasn’t given for his side. The game was getting intense ball by ball and Sanju was feeling the jitters and he knew how much each run costs in the IPL.

He was so frustrated by the calls made by the on-field umpires that he opted for a DRS just to check if a wide ball call was made right or not. Although he asked the third umpire to check for a caught behind, everyone in the stadium knew it was for the wide ball call the on-field umpire had made.

Meanwhile, the decision didn’t go down well with the fans and they called out the poor umpiring standards in the 15th edition of the IPL.

Kolkata Knight Riders stun Rajasthan Royals in a must-win game

In the first innings of the match, Rajasthan posted a below par total of 152 with the major chunk of the contribution coming from skipper Sanju Samson. KKR needed 153 from 20 overs in a bid to shrug off their winless streak.

Rajasthan Royals eventually lost the match as they posted a below-par total in the first innings. They got the wickets of the openers Baba Indrajith and Aaron Finch early on but skipper Shreyas Iyer and Nitish Rana stitched an important partnership. Rinku Singh and Nitish Rana took the team home with balls to spare.
