Virat Kohli Babar Azam

Pakistan‘s Babar Azam has been at his best in white-ball cricket for a long time now.  With his consistent performances across the world, Azam is the number one ranked T20 and One Day International batter. Azam is in the race of the greats already and has broken several records on the way. He recently broke Virat Kohli’s record of being the number one batter in T20Is for the longest period.

Azam achieved the feat on June 29 and surpassed Kohli’s tally of 1013 days, from the last decade. Recently, Azam was asked about the achievement in a press conference ahead of the Pakistan tour of Sri Lanka, the 27-year-old didn’t seem to realize about which record the journalist was asking about. So, he replied with ‘Kaun sa?’ (Which one?).

Furthermore, when Babar Azam got to know his achievement, the Pakistan skipper said: “I would like to thank god. There is hard work involved and that is why I have been able to give good performances.”

Moreover, Azam broke another of Kohli’s records last month in an ODI against West Indies. Azam became the fastest batter to score 1000 runs as a skipper. Azam took merely 13 innings to do so, while Kohli did it in 17 appearances.

Pakistan Tour of Sri Lanka

Azam will soon be in action, as Pakistan is set to play a couple of Test matches against Sri Lanka. The first game will be played in Galle and will commence on July 16. While the second game will be played in Colombo and will take off from July 24. Pakistan will also play a three-day warm-up game against Sri Lanka Board President’s XI before the substantial series kicks off.
