Ruturaj Gaikwad played a brilliant knock of 99 runs in 57 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad at MCA stadium in the ongoing season of Indian premier league. It was a knock full of classy and eye-catching shots.
Earlier in the match, Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Kane Williamson won the toss and decided to field first. After being invited to bat first, CSK openers Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad played safely in the first 4 overs. Later, both openers decided to take on the bowlers and smashed them all around the park.
Both of them gave CSK an opening partnership of 182 runs in 18 overs. Conway too scored 85 not out in 55 balls and complemented Ruturaj Gaikwad perfectly. Best thing about Ruturaj’s knock was that he played some mind-blowing shots against the express pace of Umran Malik.
Ruturaj Gaikwad scored 33 runs in 13 balls against Jammu Kashmir pacer. This knock was perfectly timed according to the situation of the game which helped CSK cross 200 runs. Gaikwad hit 6 fours and 6 sixes in this amazing knock at his home ground. However he couldn’t complete the well deserved century and got out on 99 runs.

Ruturaj Gaikwad was in poor form in IPL 2022 before this knock of 99 runs. Gaikwad had a poor start to the campaign with scores of 0, 1, 1, 16 and 17. Later he played a knock of 73 runs against Gujarat Titans. But he couldn’t carry this momentum for the next few matches and failed again. However, today’s knock would give Gaikwad a lot of confidence which he can use in upcoming matches.

At the toss, Danny Morrison asked captain cool Dhoni if fans would get to witness MSD in yellow jersey next year too. MS Dhoni gave a cheeky reply to it which made CSK fans very delighted. “You’ll definitely see me in the yellow jersey, whether it is this one, or some other one, you never know.” said Dhoni.
CSK made two changes to their playing XI for this match. Devon Conway, Simarjeet Singh replaced DJ Bravo and Shivam Dube in the playing XI of CSK. On the other hand , Sunrisers Hyderabad played an unchanged playing XI. It’s a must win match for CSK to be alive in this competition.
