Kevin Pietersen recently trolled his former England teammate Ravi Bopara who was trying to take the mickey out of him. The former England captain had suggested a change in playing conditions to the International Cricket Council (ICC). Kevin Pietersen said that if a batsman’s shot went over 100 metres 12 runs should be awarded instead of 6.
This suggestion comes at a time when big hitters have been regularly clearing the boundary ropes with ease and with the advancement in batting techniques and use of heavier and thicker bats, balls are been deposited regularly in stands in the biggest of stadiums.
U Would Need To Put A Boundary Rope Over The Crowd: Ravi Bopara to Kevin Pietersen
The former English cricketer recently tweeted that he wanted a change in rules in T20 cricket, that if a batsman hit a six that went over 100 meters over the boundary rope then the batsman gets 12 runs. He tagged the International Cricket Council (ICC) and even the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in his tweet. He suggested to the ECB that they can try this rule in their upcoming.
I want an addition to the rules in T20 cricket!
Or, @englandcricket can do it in the 100.If a player hits a 6 that goes over 100m, I want a 12 awarded! @ICC

The former England captain also listed down the impact this rule will have on the game. He said it would add excitement and make games even more interesting.
The pluses for a 12, for a shot that travels over 100m:
1. No game is really over till itās over.
2. It adds real excitement.
3. Broadcasters have new equations around possibilities of 12s being hit.
4. New revenue stream as they can be sponsored.Watch this space…! š„

In response to this, his former English teammate Ravi Bopara said that to implement this they will have to shift the boundary line in the crowd.

Kevin Pietersen then continued the banter as he replied to Ravi Bopara. He said that he(Ravi Bopara) need not worry as this rule was only for the big boys, hinting that Kevin Pietersen back in his days could clear the ropes easily. This friendly banter has left everyone in splits.
You shouldnāt worry. It only matters to the big boys who can actually hit 100m 6s. š

The banter was further continued by Ravi Bopara as he posted a video of ‘The Hulk’ showing that he is strong like him to clear the ropes.
