Former Mumbai Indians (MI) all-rounder Kieron Pollard lit up match 19 of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2025 on Monday, September 1, at the Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad, where Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) faced St Kitts and Nevis Patriots (SKNP). The veteran power-hitter smashed seven sixes in just eight balls, bringing up his half-century in only 21 deliveries.
This marked his 64th career T20 fifty, his 15th in CPL history, and his second of the ongoing season. The 38-year-old began his assault by hitting three sixes in the final four balls of Navin Bidaisee’s over, before going on to launch four consecutive maximums against Waqar Salamkheil in the following over.
The explosive hitting came during the 15th and 16th overs of TKR’s innings. CPL’s official X handle showcased the carnage by posting Pollard’s four back-to-back sixes that powered him to the milestone.

With his blistering knock of 65, Kieron Pollard has climbed to fourth place on the run-scorers’ chart in CPL 2025. He has accumulated 223 runs across six innings, boasting an impressive strike rate of 182.78. Pollard recently became only the second player after Chris Gayle to cross 14,000 T20 runs, with teammate Alex Hales joining the milestone a day later.
“Once An MI, Always An MI” – Kieron Pollard’s Emotional Farewell Post On IPL Retirement
Kieron Pollard took to social media to pen an emotional note, thanking the Mumbai Indians (MI) as he announced his retirement from the IPL. His message came shortly after the franchise released him following a disappointing 2022 campaign. In a joint statement, he mentioned (via NDTV):
“It hasn’t been the easiest decision to make as I will keep playing for a few more years, but I understand that this incredible franchise which has achieved so much needs to transition and if I’m no longer to play for MI then I cannot see myself playing against MI either.”
“Once an MI always an MI. I am immensely proud, honoured and blessed to have represented the biggest and most successful team in the IPL for the past 13 seasons,” he added.
