Mumbai Indians (MI) have had the worst start to their IPL 2022 campaign, losing all their five matches so far in the competition. With the mood in camp not very optimistic, Wasim Jaffer shared a perfect meme to capture the emotions of the MI fans.

The five-time IPL champions went down fighting against Punjab Kings on Wednesday by 12 runs at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium. Chasing 198 runs, youngster Dewald Brevis and Tilak Varma kept Mumbai in the hunt.

But a couple of run-outs put Mumbai Indians out of the competition despite a valiant effort by Suryakumar Yadav. Punjab produced a brilliant effort in the death overs to defend the total and secure their third win of the season. It also extended Rohit Sharma and Co’s woes, who are yet to find their feet in IPL 2022.

Meanwhile, the fans are also extremely disappointed with an underwhelming show from Mumbai Indians. In the wake of it, Wasim Jaffer shared a perfect meme on Twitter to capture the emotion of the Mumbai Indians fans. The former Indian cricketer has posted a snippet of a song by Atif Aslam that has left the fans in splits.

Although Mumbai Indians are still in the playoffs race, their chances of making it to the knockouts are getting more difficult with every defeat.

“We aren’t playing good cricket” – Rohit Sharma on Mumbai Indians’ five defeats on the trot

Reacting to the five straight defeats, Rohit Sharma admitted that they have not played up to the standards. The 34-year-old asserted that 198 was a chasebale target and that they need to prepare well and come back stronger for the next game.

“We aren’t playing good cricket, we need to understand some situations and execute according to it. They got off to a flier, put our bowlers was under pressure, but the pitch was good to bat on and I thought 198 was chaseable. As I said earlier, we need to go back to the drawing room and come back better prepared,” Rohit said at the end of the game against Punjab.
